Snow Globes and Airplanes

I learned that recently the TSA changed their ban on snow-globes. They've decided they're not a threat after all. This kind of annoys me because once I had a mermaid one confiscated when I was flying home from Florida. It was a gift for a friend- she loves mermaids and collects snow-globes. I was so happy to have found the perfect gift for her. I kept it in my carry-on bag since it was glass and therefore fragile.

Going through security, I was flagged. Brought over to have my bag ransacked because there was something suspicious that had been spotted on the scanner.  The woman rummaged through my carefully packed things, ripping open paper I had wrapped around the things that could get damaged. She picked up the snow-globe and held it up in my face.  "You can't have this." She said.  I got defensive, mad, said the B word, loudly, as in- "You actually think I want to BLOW UP the plane that my daughter and granddaughter are on, with a snow-globe?" Anger doesn't work with those people.  She kept my snow-globe- I told her to give it to her granddaughter. She said, snippily, "I can't- it will be discarded."

So stupid.
