Their Last Hurrah

 I'm always surprised at the resurgence of color in my gardens this time of year. They are in their benign neglect stage... I'm done with pruning and weeding- just waiting now for things to be good and dead so I can start cleaning up for the winter. We've had a couple of frosts, but I guess not the tragic "killing" kind, sung about so ominously in that song "Wildfire" back in the 80's.

Anyway, I was outside cleaning the cat litter boxes yesterday and became aware of all that color around me and thought I should capture it with my handy-dandy phone-camera. Because they could all be dead and gone tomorrow, poor things. They look so happy...
