We took Nina to see her first movie in a theater last week- Brave. It's an adorable movie, and appealed to her because she is quite interested in the notion of bravery these days. She constantly tells us how she was able to do things because she was "so brave." She now pretends to be "Brave" (what she calls the main character in the movie) and is coming up with her own stories of made-up bravery. Here's the latest:
"Once, when I was out in a boat in the ocean, a very bad shark came and bit my head off and I fell out of the boat and then I had to swim to the bottom to get my head and I couldn't see the shark because I didn't have a head, but I found it on the floor of the ocean and then I glued it back on and went home and the good bad sharks killed the bad shark. I was really Brave!"
Not a bad tall tale for a 3 year old.
(and here, because I am a compulsive picture-taker (because of my iPhone) is a picture of us, watching Brave.)
