I Woke Up at 5AM Today

I've been doing that lately.  Falling asleep around 9:45 at night, and then being wide awake at 5 in the morning.  It seems like such an old person thing to do, but I kind of like it.  I actually feel a little peppier when I wake up- like I'm ready to bounce out of bed and check off lots of things on my to-do list.  The only problem is that by about 11, I'm ready for a nap.

And the other thing that's not so good is that Big Al would like to keep sleeping, even though I'm ready to start my day, which I usually do by talking about what's on my mind. And he's so nice to me that he pretends to listen to my musings on a wide variety of topics (although when he does let a little snore escape once in awhile,  I know he's faking it.) This morning I covered the following:

The Sequester (I went on a long time about that)
Class Warfare
All the reasons I don't feel like helping poor people anymore
Technology and how it's affecting kids in a bad way
How schools are actually holding classes to teach social skills
All the funny, cute things the kids in my class said and did this week
Decorating ideas for the new bathroom

Then I showed him videos on Youtube of goats singing along with Journey and Bon Jovi. He actually laughed. The man is a saint.

Since the sequester happened we no longer have electricity here...and the streets are infested with the walking dead.

Those aren't the walking dead... they're some of the thousands of illegal immigrants that our director of homeland security has lied about releasing.
