I've Taken Up Knitting

Mostly to save my sanity, but also because it seems like such a grandmotherly thing to do. It's been a rough few weeks, and instead of sitting around, feeling sad, (which there is a time and place for, for a little while) I've decided it is time to do something productive. So, I've thrown myself into a frenzy of Christmas preparations, including hand making a bunch of gifts this year.

Here's my first knitting project, half-way done. It's a sweater, and it still needs sleeves, and if a knitter looks carefully, they'll see that it's far from perfect. But, after many late nights and emotional ups and downs, I'm quite pleased with myself. I know- I used to think that people talking about their knitting projects was almost as boring as people telling you about their dreams, but after getting this far towards creating an actual garment, I feel like I deserve the right to humble brag.

I guess, in full disclosure, I should admit that it's a doll sweater. And it's a little embarrassing that it took this much angst and labor to get this far with it, but it's part of Nina's Christmas present, and I think every ounce of blood, sweat and tears was worth it. Actually, there was no actual blood, but there were the other two things. If you're lucky, I'll show you the whole ensemble when completed!
