All nine of my siblings and I have come together this weekend to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday. He doesn't seem that old- he bought himself a silver pick-up truck for his birthday, and he wants to start taking piano lessons. He still loves working hard outside and playing ball and being silly with his grandchildren. He is still one of the smartest, funniest, handsomest, most thoughtful, generous, complicated, sentimental people I know. He hates turning 80- he just told my brother he hates it because he doesn't know how much time he has left with my Mom. They both started crying, and my Mom punched him in the arm and told him that that was enough of that!
