Tattletale

Annoying Mom: Someone was not being nice just now out in the hallway.

Me:  Oh, really? So....

Annoying Mom: I think you need to have a talk with her.

Me: Ok- I'll talk to her privately.

(Take accused party into back hallway- Annoying Mom and her dejected little boy follow. Annoying Mom is hovering- waiting to see how I'll handle "situation.")

Me: So, what just happened?

Little Girl:  I don't know.

Little Boy: She said my coat is funny.

Me to Little Girl:  Did you say that?

Little Girl:  Yes.

(I look at his coat.  It is bright green with giant frog-head pockets.  He is wearing matching bright green frog-head boots.)

Me: Well, it is kind of funny.  It has giant frog heads on it.  

Little Boy (giggles): Yeah.  I know.

Me (to Annoying Mom): Ok.  I think we're all set!
